Wonderful.

One thing i feel that She-Who-Writes-Crappy-Epilogues missed completely is that Hogwarts is British. In the old British magical tales, the Smith does have a special position. While not quite a wizard, the Smith is still a powerful person and i really like that you're picking up hints of that. A few drops of Susan Cooper can only enhance things. There's also the great Norse anti-hero Völund, the biblical Tubal Cain and many others.

'Yes, i also caught the game references. Wouldn't it be fun if he would bowl the dragon over with a Fus Ro Dah? Well, the thought is amusing.

Speaking of amusing, that little quote chain had my wife come to check my health. I do have a slightly excessive laugh, but i rarely actually fall to the floor..=)

Thanks. In case i wasn't clear, i kinda like this story..

Thanks for the update.

>> "A what?" Dumbledore gasped in horror. "No!" Dumbledore knew long before Harry's 4th year that the scar was acting like a horcrux (HP7).

Fun read so far. Odd pacing, but I'm enjoying the story.

Love it! I think that this may be the first "bashing" story that truly isn't. Harry is accepting of the limits and flaws of others without being sanctimonious. He helps the elves because they ask not because "it is the right thing to do." No, the elves exert their rights for better treatment without the need for another to tell them this is so. These elves I could see existing and thriving being free. Like I said, Love It. (Oh and love the"nutty professor" and chamber yells! I was quite literally laughing out loud)

That was a very nice way to end the chapter. There are so many writers out there that bash dumbledore sooooo heavily, or make him an evil old guy bent on Harry's demise. And I like those types of stories, it gives Harry someone to fight against that is not Riddle and brings a new twist to the world. But you show a Dumbledore that is different from the vast majority of the ones written as either incompetent or negligent.

You show him as an old man with too many responsibilities getting a desperately needed wakeup call in regards to Harry, and how he decides to react to that realization. It is something that I enjoy greatly and I'm always looking forward to seeing how he handles things from there on out.

Can't wait for the next chapter.

I busted a gut laughing at that scene of them going down the chute (scary thing is, I recognized all the references).

I found it a most enjoyable chapter and thank you for that. I wonder if the school realizes just how much they've contributed to the maturing and growth of the folks in this group and just how inadequate it's going to make them feel/seem when it becomes evident. I rather suspect that independent house elves are going to force their own "velvet revolution" on wizarding society and that those not willing to adapt are going to end up far behind, and quite smelly. It would be amusing if the merpeople in the lake later filed a complaint with the house elves about the dirty, smelly students being dropped in the lake and polluting it.

Thank you very much for another enjoyable read.

More excellent fun! Thanks for this. And thanks also for not making Dumbledore an evil jerk. This is a lot more entertaining!

Skyrim seems to be popping up in a lot of stories

keep up the good work and I'm trying to think I heard Hermione's phrase when she went down the pipe before I can't remember where

OMG, I smirked so much at seeing both Ace Rimmer quoted AND Elwood Blues paraphrased - not that I didn't also appreciate the references to TMNT, Neil A, John McClane and I'm guessing probably... Doctor Who?

Awesome work as always.

An HP update from you is always fun. Love how you adopted Romilda and Astoria to be your agents of change/spokespeople and poked holes in the Ice Queen persona of Daphne. As cute as the interplay between and flat out brilliance of Tori and Romi was, the chapter really turned with the quiet revolt of the house elves and the introspection of Dumbles and his heads of house. Wonderful way to highlight the atrocious behavior that was rampant throughout the HP series and especially so in GoF. Can't wait for next week's update. Thanks for this treat!

As a reader of many stories - fan fiction or fully published - I always look forward to a new story from your pen. Despite the well-used theme of the Tri-wizard tournament, you have again found a new angle and a plot that seems to be teaching the world of wizards a harsh lesson. I like this story very much and look forward to next weeks episode. Ave atque vale - Clivius.

Great story thus far with some new and interesting takes on the hp characters. Still, every time I see your title, I am reminded of the movie Zoolander and the model "look" called Blue Steel. Now I am embarrassed to admit I've even seen that movie... oh well. Keep up the good work.

Ooh, a great start, Jeconais! I'm hooked! Astoria and Romilda are such great characters, the way you've written them! Very fun! Romi had me giggling more than once as I read the chapter.

I find it fascinating that two second-year students were able to figure out one of the biggest isses Harry has within an hour of meeting him while the grown adults remained completely clueless. It's fascinating, though hardly surprising. Professors like McGonagall have remained either clueless or willfully blind to the problems that plague her students for, like, ever.

My guess as to why McGonagall is so lackluster about her defense of Harry whenever he is picked on by Snape or the rest of the student body has several options. The first is the one that she herself pointed out - she wears too many hats. She has three jobs - Transfiguration professor, Head of Gryffindor, and Deputy Headmistress. The third position demands that she remain impartial in her dealings with all students, which conflicts with the very essence of being Head of Gryffindor. In that position, she is meant to be the house's advocate, their defender. In this case, she neglects that in favor of being the DH. The second option is that she is so used to Dumbledore's lack of intervention in cases of bullying that she follows his lead as a matter of fact. It is rather her MO. Just look at the very beginning of the first book. She knew that the Dursleys were completely unsuitable for raising Harry, and even pointed it out, but when Dumbledore says he has his reasons for putting Harry there, she goes quiet and doesn't say another word about it. She's so used to being Dumbledore's yes woman that she doesn't seem to know any other way.

I did have one question, though. Near the end of the chapter, Barty Crouch Jr. cast the killing curse at Moody and it says that while Moody jumped, the curse still hit him. And yet, in the very next scene, Moody is still alive and aware enough to knock Dumbledore on his ass (brilliant, btw). How is it that Moody survived? Is there some kind of ward on Hogwarts itself that protects people from an AK? But that wouldn't make sense since Snape was able to kill Dumbledore with the same curse in book six. Is there something we don't know about going on there?

Again, excellent chapter! Can't wait for more! Thanks so much for sharing!
