I have read this story at least 15 times over the past 2 years. I have absolutely loved it. Between this and Harry Potter: Geth by mjimeyg I can't decide which is my absolute favorite story.

A really fun read - loved Derek probably far too well!

Nice to see "alternative" magical arts brought into play - enchanting, alchemy and so on - and to see the homages to Skyrim :)

You got the Chippendale furniture prices off by quite a bit. Good Rococo style furniture made at the time of Chippendale but not by him goes for around pound 100,000. Some a little more and some little less. The few pieces that can be documented from Chippendale goes for 4 million. However most of Chippendales documented furniture is in a neoclasical style that came after what was in the Directory.

Yep, the Krums are officially my second favorite family in this story, and Boris is officially my second favorite OC behind Derek, and if I'm honest, they're my favorites behind Harry, Daphne, Romilda, Hermione, and Astoria.

Kinda surprised no one thought to bring Hermione's parents along.

I'm wondering if the potions and smithing in this fic is influenced by the Skyrim. While that Fortify Smithing potion only really uses any combo of three of those ingredients, I can see why you went with all four, as that would be more in line with how potions are made in Harry Potter.

I just finished rereading this story. I probably have read it 3 or 4 times since you first published it. I loved it. What I liked about it was it was so different. Harry's apiration is to become a blacksmith/enchanter? Not to many stories out there depicting that. Head Auror, Minister of Magic, Chief Warlock, Master of Death stories, you'll find by the score. But instead of it being an aspiration that's beneath his potential/abilities, it was one which brought out his strengths and talents in a big way. It was a great job, and I definitely enjoyed reading this one. Maybe the people who told you they didn't like it sidn't like it being so different. Anyway, thanks for sharing your writing with us!
