I love Gabrielle's characterization in this story, and the plot itself has a ton of intrigue. I was thinking about the story line early on, and wondering "What happens to Gabrielle if Harry gives her an order and she fails?" Is she truly independent, or is she obediently independent? Why does she continue to be a damsel in distress when she is a very above averaged witch? Is it because she knows that Harry has a "Saving People Thing" and she wants to play to it for him, even if neither of them know it? I know that last question is a little convoluted, but I think it's possible.
I've actually really started to like Gabrielle as a character since I read a couple of stories over on Phoenixsong.net with her taking a more active role. Maskirova by Kokopelli was what really turned me towards this pairing, because I saw how well it could possibly work, and how deep a character Gabrielle can be.
This work, along with everything else you turn out, has a extremely high quality, which is the one thing that made me want to read every single work you have authored, and it was that which actually made me read pairings other than H/G. I know this is a very rambling review, but I want it to be my review for everything you've ever posted on this site and others, and a MASSIVE thank you for being an island of fantastic fiction in a sea of thoughtless, plotless adolescent junk. I also want to thank you for running this website that holds the works of many authors of the same cut of cloth as you. Most days now I don't even bother to look for new fanfics, I just come to this site and reread all of my favorites. So for me, and everybody who hasn't said it yet, thank you, and your entire "staff" for making sure there is exceptional Harry Potter fanfiction to read.

Yes! I love the way they dealt with Malfoy! I don't really think that Dumbledore could've fallen into that level of idiocy, but considering that he's doing this for a chance to speak to Harry it is totally understandable. So, when will Dumbledore attempt to speak to Harry alone? I can't wait to read that one.

Love your story, can't wait to see what Harry does now that he knows that Malfoy's got his eye on his girl. Awaiting the fireworks with avid anticipation. Hope to see the next chapter soon.

Great story,
keep up the good work.

Opinions are like assholes.
Everyone has one - but some just smell worse than others.

Ooooh AWESOME!

Loved the Drama, loved the suspense, and most of all I loved Draco running headlong into a tree.

In all actuality, I think I liked the bedroom scene the best so far (not the one hermoine saw) simply because you have managed to describe a very intimate relationship that hasn't been based on sex, That in it's self is a very hard thing to do, but you managed to pull it off with flair that rarely gets seen even in the best written books,

You are a credit and a boon to all of us aspiring writers (Of fanfic or otherwise) Thank you and keep up the excellet work!

I liked it.

I particularly liked the way Gabby handled Draco. No avian avatars, no fireballs, no dramatic duels, she just casually swatted him like a gnat. "Go run into that tree?" Wham! But somehow I think that is not the end of it.

The single line that struck me the most was MacGonagall thinking that Severus and Draco have too much influence over the HEadmaster. Foreshadowing the cause for the changes in him? That could be interesting.

I'm also curious to see how everyone reacts when the Beaubatons Faculty is almost entirely Hogwarts alumni. Make that the classic Gryffindor lineup: Harry, Oliver, Fred, George, Alicia, Katie, and Angelina. He made sure they were all associate Professors after all.

Really well done. Sentimental in a mature manner, especially the opening scene.

This chapter was GREAT!!!! I especially enjoyed Gabrielle having Malfoy run head first into a tree. :D And i enjoyed reading Lee Jordan's commentary, it was alwyas one of the mthings I looked most forward to in the books. I really think that the way you have developed all the characters all throughout the story, has been magnificient, and I can't wait to read more of this.

Take Care

Once again, very well done. I love the way you are going with H & G's relationship. The fact that he is already in love with her, but is afraid to jump in. I like how true-to-life you have made it. And I cannot wait to see what Hermione comes up with to try to fix that little problem.
I'm excited to see some smut!! I know it isn't something you normally focus on, but the sexual tension is so thick, I have to keep believing you'll give us something...?

I also enjoyed the match, it was tastefully done, not too extravagant. It was nice that the team was losing at first, it showed they were human.

Okay, Malfoy running flat out into a tree is priceless, I was laughing out loud for so long that my co-workers now think I'm mental!! I can't wait to see what Harry does to him!!
With Appreciation...

Very impressive story so far! Well done for a relationship with Harry and Gabrielle.
Interesting hints about Dumbledore. I did wonder about the dementia...
Dumbledore may not have it, but could repeated use of a penseive cause something similar?

Tim, you kill me.

As usual, an unbelievably wonderful chapter and I was shocked! when I got to the end. Seeing the author's notes was a painful slap back into reality.

Thank you so much!

Amazing. Harry is so amazing as if Gabrielle. She just fits him so well.
I think it's important for the story to Hermione to succeed to diminish the bond. It might have some repercussions for Gabrielle but despite the explanations here, which was from her pov, it still feels like the bond is very controlling. Harry is even using the bond here more.
The flow was really good and I couldn't help but hope there would be several chapters ready after this one :)
I await the next chapter as soon as possible!

Ahahahaahahaahahaa!! XD

That was great :D
Ah well. It seemed so long yet it still went by to fast. I guess that's just the mark of a good author.
Ther were stil some typos though, but that's the only real criticism I have, and so I'll leav it at that.

Once again, an outstanding chapter in what is shaping into a classic story! You have done a good job keeping the reader emotionally involved in with the characters, ensuring that we are on the edge of our virtual seats, wanting to see what happens next!

I, as a rule, like Severus Snape, but I find myself applauding when Harry gets in his face. Good characterization. I also like the side mystery of what is wrong with Dumbledore, Imperious is too blatant... I also like that Hogwarts has a saving grace in McGonagall. Just the right mix.

Again, good job! You are a good writer, and a very good Storyteller!

Jack B Nimble posted a comment on Saturday 11th February 2006 5:30am

Whew! When you started on the match, I was afraid you would leave the Draco - Gabby meeting for the next chapter. And what a meeting it was! I like the emotional reaction from Gabby, though I would have a bit more physical reaction -- some of those fireballs could have made for a nice addition to the scene.

Minerva... I do like the relationship with Minerva. I also like the way everyone outside the school seems to defer to her as the last respectful bit of Hogwarts.

Nice little jab there at some of the H/Hr plots, too. Well done. Though, not being a Ron fan, I do enjoy seeing him make an ass of himself sometimes.

All in all, great new chapter. Looking forward to the rest!
