A great piece of writing, that I have enjoyed since the start. I hope you keep up all the great work with your future stories.

A grand finish, and I agree. A sequel would only diminish it.

Still, you've done marvelous things with this. Hat's off to you.

Aw, no Harry versus Charlie? Was looking forward to that . . . [continue reading] Oh, yah!

> Harry smiled and summoned a book from Hogwarts library.
From hundreds of miles away. Just like that without blinking. *sigh* Yeah, can we say pow-er-ful? I knew you could.

> Percy snorted elegantly. "For all I know, he’s planning on resurrecting Merlin!"
> "Now there’s an idea," Amelia mumbled.
*laugn* Oh, those two lines are priceless!

> Kingsley sniggered.
Uh, oh . . . I think I see where this is going. I suspected it a few sentences ago, but Kingsley's reaction clinched it.

> "He can finish a sandwich the size of your head in seconds!"
*laugh* Okay, I know what cartoons you watched as a kid :)

> The Defence professor — and Harry still couldn’t remember his name — moved to the right,
Snerk! BTW, I noticed that Harry continued with the Halloween timeframe in front of Parkinson. Nice touch, that.

> The boy about to bleach his mind
*chuckle* Now where have I heard that expression (multiple-multiple times)? As an aside, liked the Daily reports.

> "I can’t decide if that’s sickeningly cute, sickeningly predictable, or just sickening," Ron sighed.
And another one-liner I liked

Even I, the Monty Python illiterate peasant, recognized a lot of that.

> Bill had certainly given the wards teeth.
*vicious grin* Bravo, Bill. Bravo.

> <strike>Audaces fortuna juvat</strike> The final taunt to Voldemort: Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries
*chuckle* I like that.

> The Truth Is Out There
*blink* *laugh* I don't know if we've seen her .sig before, but that one is absolutely perfect.

Good wrap-up, boss.

Overall, epic, thoroughly enjoyable story. My hat's off to the master storyteller.

Dear Jeconais,

To quote . . .

TMW is finished, some people like it, some people dislike it, and some people rabidly hate it. I’m happy enough with the latter parts, slightly embarrassed by the earlier parts, but pleased that it is finished.

Count me in as one of the people who like it, from start to finish.

Cheers!

Fred

I recently reread the earlier chapters, still loved them. Really enjoyed the last three and liked the ending. It is really a great story. lee

Well done for writing such a great story, yes it may have taken a while but it was worth the wait.

I think, that I love you.

seriously.

that was amazing! I couldn't have pictured a better end! I've been watching this story for close to two years now, and I have to say I'm happy to see it finally get the end it deserves. You are an amazing writer with amazing talent.

My favorite part, ( of this chapter) would have to be Bella and Narcissa moving to Harry's side in the battle. Loved it!

Thank you so much.

You know, when my email popped up when i got home, and i saw the warning for the chapter, i was so sure i'd have a lot to say. Comments, thanks you, etc..

But now, after all this time (i've been reading this since you posted the second chapter, so it has been a while), i think i'd like to thank you first for the feeling of peace that resides in me right about now. i loved the story, like the early chapters almost as much as the new ones, and i can honestly say that you manage something that J.K. Rollings didn't: i grew with this story. My late teens, and the beginning of my adulthood are marked by this story, almost as much as my life.

I remember things in my life by reading TMW and other stories, i remember going on a two week travel with a lot of friends more happy because i manage to print Blaze of Glory last chapter from you LJ then because of the trip.

So, trhank you for everything, and hopefully i'll be here for a little while longer, just to make sure you can have the same affect on somebody else's life as you did mine. Still your smallest Brazilian fan ;).

quoting bugs, That's all folks!

And thanks again Tim.

Thank you for finishing this story, I eagerly await your next project as I am sure it will be as enjoyable as this has been.

In some ways, I think I have enjoyed it more due to your "hold-ups" and writer block moments. It's very apparent that you had to work quite hard to finish it, and as I told a college friend the other day, the things that challenge you always will have a special spark that carries through your writing if your truly make the attempt.

Thank you again Tim for taking the time, and effort, to finish this tale.

I am absolutely astounded at the way this story finished. Great piece of work, I would like to say when is the sequel, however reading your post-script there won't be one, I can understand that this story is finished and does not warrant another one in this vein..... Congratulations and thank you for a terrific story, one of the best......

Why should I use many words:

Thank You.

siaru posted a comment on Tuesday 27th February 2007 4:05pm

Bravo! And congratulations on a job extremely well done. You're probably feeling a bit like Harry now: "It's done, okay? Now let me go play for awhile!" Go ahead, you've earned it.

FYI My kids have already had most of the chapters of TMW read to them twice, at their request. Now that it's finished, they just might want it through again from the beginning. This is a major piece of fanfiction you've written here; just in case you haven't realized that yet.

Yes, the tone changes and matures, but
so does Harry, so there is developmental consistency there. For this reader, the net effect is to pull the reader along, moving expectations forward, and it works. The humor continues throughout, leavening the whole.

Again, well done, and thanks for writing TMW and sharing it with us.

Almost a pity it's finally over. What's next?

You do realise that now I'm going to have to watch the Holy Grail all over again - such a shame;)

I've been waiting for a while for this and its the only reason I started coming to this site. Thanks for getting me interested in it and for a great story and opening this site up for so many other great stories. Great Ending.

jilumasam posted a comment on Tuesday 27th February 2007 3:51pm

I am rather impressed by the way you ended the story. Like you said earlier the first half is quite different to the second half...nonethless you have done a brilliant job of reigning in all the seemingly diaparate elements and creating a funny and thought provoking story.

Definitely one to read again! Congrats on finishing the story and Congrats on the good work you have done!

I must say, I've been reading it for a long time, but I don't think I've ever reviewed before. Allow me to change that.

You, sir, are amazing. You made me snork on my fried rice more than once during this chapter(cross between snort and choke, usually derived from hysterical laughing while attempting to eat). The chatroom where I hang out is at the moment entirely devoted to people reading TMW and quoting the best lines, and there was great unhappiness when the link, for reasons unknown, didn't work (tech guru fixed it).

IMHO, there's nothing wrong with the occasional confused story. Especially not if it provides as much sheer entertainment as this one did.

I shall miss This Means War! as shall most discerning readers who don't mind a little silliness now and then. Thank you, as always, for sharing your talents with us.

Anne

Oh My God!
That was the perfect ending to the perfect fic. Through the years I've gone off Harry/Ginny but this fic remains as an all time favourite.

This is arguably the best completed fanfiction ever. Well, at least until you finish Hope, but take as long as necessary, quality over quanity.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Nothing more I need to say!
