Well, I like it, as I've liked ALL of your work.

Now I can only hope that you have more time for.... er..... Hope.....

In any case, keep up the good work!

What can I say.

Your author's notes have summed up a lot of what I was thinking - between the first nine chapters and this, and that you have an odd mix of comedy, action, romance and just silliness.

All-in-all, I think it works. It works because no matter where you are as an author now, you've kept so many of your original plot ideas, and even working a couple new ones in, it still ties the story together. There *is* a big difference in writing styles, but I think that you've kept the original "feel" of the story, and that's really what counts.

TMW was one of my first and favorite stories. I'm glad to see it finished. That being said, I'm glad to see you grow as an author since you've started this, and stories like the "These Dreams" trilogy prove that you can still write and H/G, after a fashion.

You are, above all other authors, the one who made me realize that it's not the ship that matters - it's the quality of the writing that counts. And these final chapters with "better" Bellatrix and Narcissa prove that.

Anyway, awesome chapter, awesome ending. What you wrote (final battle wise) isn't what I'd expect from you now, however, I can't imagine what it took to blend now!Tim with old!Tim and come up with something that's both entertaining, gripping and well-flowing as this was. It absolutely worked for the context of the story, and for me, that's what's most important.

Thanks Tim (and garden girl for visiting him and getting the juices flowing and the betas for working with such a huge "chapter"). I'm personally both happy and sad to see it finished.

As a rabid hater of good fiction ending, I just have to say.

Dang it. Why oh why does it have to end?

Love your work, cant wait to see whats next.

A very enjoyable read I am also glad that it's finished, we can start annoying you about Hope now :)

Okay, this is a serious review now that I've read the whole chapter (part III).

First, let me say, taunting, a flying cow, trebuchet?? Oh my god, I was falling out of my seat laughing. All I could say was "cow, cow" and my husband thought I had officially lost it. You may not use humor in the same way, but you still use it well!

I like the way you've wrapped up this farcical bit of fluff into something substantial without dragging it to the maudlin stage. Good choice.

Love Seamus' "worship" of Harry. Too funny. The "silencing charms" bit was good too.

I'm glad you've stuck with it and finished it. It is literally one of the foundations of my personal HP fanfic odyssey (and of many other people's too, I imagine), and to have it finished is great.

I look forward to your other work. Please, please, let your muse take you as it will. I personally love the H/G ship (well, at least before HBP and the whole monstre thing), but I love to read your HP/other fics too. Don't let anyone tell you what or how to write. Believe me, there are plenty of us who appreciate what you share with us.

Thanks again, for everything.

Cheers,

Cassie

Tim, I am glad that you are finished with this story. I am also glad that you are going to consider it truly complete and not something that you want to rewrite in the future. You are not pleased with the first chapters, and I can understand that, but it is a good thing that you can put it down and step back, that you present it to the readership as a whole without the obsession of rewriting it all to your current style and standards. I find it all enjoyable and well written, but I understand that an author is his or her own toughest critic if they deserve the title at all.

As to this chapter, speciically. I did not take notes on what to mention in the review, so I hope that a hearty, "Great Job" will be enough, except to mention that I truly laughed out loud, as in verbally as opposed to some meaningless e-mail abreviation, when Harry taunted Voldemort. That is one of my favorite movie scenes.

Thank you for writing. I hope that it is a passtime that will fulfill you for a long time coming, be it in fanfiction or the odd professional novel or two.

Wow, I can only congratulate you. You're one of the best fanfic writers I've read in the last four years. I'm amazed and I can only expect (I had to refrain myself from making a pun, as I believe you must be tired of them) the last chapter of Hope. Congratulations for the last time.

Lostchyld posted a comment on Tuesday 27th February 2007 7:26pm

That was awesome. You should totally give up fanfiction and write original work. I'd totally buy anything you published. The story itself was just the right mix of comedy, farce and serious fiction. It never got too dark, but stayed away from the sense of existing for humor's sake.

I whole heartedly support your reasons for not writing a sequel, and I feel like you tied up all loose ends satisfactorily. Essentially, the way you ended this leaves no room for a sequel. Perhaps a companion short concerning Harry's new ideals, but I think I'd rather fill in those details on my own. That is the purpose of having an imagination.

I really can't say enough good things about this. You've impressed me beyond words. I'm sounding a bit like a rabid fan, aren't I??

Great Job.

Cheers.

Since you put so much time and effort into this story and since I did also in reading it and following along, I feel it is truly my duty to comment after this final installment. I absolutely loved the story not only because of the wonderful humor, professionalistic writing style and well thought out plot, but also because this story was the gateway to a whole lot more than I bargained for when I began reading TMW back when it was only on the fourth or so chapter. That was a long sentence. Anyways, this story for some reason has always had the effect of lightening my mood no matter what. It might be the combination of your particular brand of humor and your writing style but that set it apart from the rest of the fan fiction I have read. Believe me, I really have read quite a large volume of fan fiction, humorous and otherwise, so it really says something about your writing that it has that effect. Since my first reading of this story, I followed you over to this site when it began. Like I said, this story was the gateway to many new things. When I first followed you over to this site, I only branched out so far as to read your other Harry/Ginny fiction and afterwards, to other author's Harry/Ginny fiction. From there, I returned to your site and began reading all of your fiction and after that, I did pretty much the same for each author. What I'm trying to say is that TMW has been a really good experience for me and I believe that the same is true for you, even though we've both grown and changed since the story began. So to finish this up, thank you for enriching the body of fan fiction and my life so profoundly because that is truly what you have done, though you might not have realized.

Ah, the ambivilance of a completed story. I love to see things get closed out, but I miss a friend too. I've enjoyed your other tales, and thank you for bringing this one to an honorable close. You are one of my favorite fanfic authors.

Hate? How could anyone in their right mind hate anything, and I mean anything, that you write?! This is an amazing story and I am so glad that you finished it. I enjoyed reading it so much!

"I’m happy enough with the latter parts, slightly embarrassed by the earlier parts, but pleased that it is finished."

I know exactly what you mean there. My writing has improved astronomically (look at me, I'm a narcissist) since I started (barely a year ago) to the point where I read through some of my old stories for ideas that were poorly defined or never explored and it's horrid.

Maybe it's just our perceptions as authors that blind us, or maybe it really does suck. It is possible to be too close to a problem. If you like it, you're a narcissist. If you hate it, you're being to hard on yourself. I can't really tell which I am.

Congrats for finishing this, it was a ton of fun to read :-) Every plan and plot was a blast as they unfolded. Thanks for all the laughs and sappy romance!

Truly an epic story, glad to see that it's finished at long last. And what an ending it was.

I've enjoyed this story greatly. I've got it saved on my laptop for frequent browsing, and in a way, I'm sorry to see the last chapter. It's been a great ride and I'm looking forward to see more of your work in other stories.
