I'm really glad you finished this. This is my all-time favorite fanfic story. Sure, it's tenor has changed from when you first started writing it, but I still find the humor and story to be wonderful.

BTW, you almost kill me back around ch 5 in the scene in the RoR with Ginny pranking Padfoot in front of Fudge. It was late a night when I was reading it and I had tears running down my face and I was hyperventilating I laughing so hard. It was all I could do to hold the laughter in and not wake up the rest of the house. I think I almost choked. :-)

I could make a lot more comments, but I'll leave you with that and my appreciation for you sharing your talents. I can understand you not doing a sequel to this, so maybe that will give you time to finish some of the other stories you've started and not completed. :-) Again, thanks for sharing!

A fitting end to an enjoyable old tale...

Kudos to your hard work and that of your betas.

Firstly, thank you for finishing the story - I read your authors notes and felt that you may have been a bit hard on yourself in places. I found the story to be both entertaining and downright hilarious in places - both excellent ingredients in the escapism of fiction.
I have followed the story from the start - loved it! I will be one fan following your future works closely.

Wow. Just, wow. You are absolutely amazing and deserve the highest praise I can offer. I cried because I knew this was it. This is...what I have been waiting for or the last two years. I am happy, I am sad, but most of all, I am in awe of how awesome you are with the pen and paper (or in this case, the keyboard and computer) You. Are. Brilliant. I can not wait to read more of your works should you write them. TMW! will forever live one in my heart, no matter how cheesy that sounds.

Personally, I loved it. The only thing wrong (and I have the same feeling about Hope) is that there just weren't enough chapters.
I even have my wife waiting for the next chapter of Hope (and i HOPE it is a long chapter).

I think the best way to describe my overall reaction to this is simply, I'm happy. Maybe not exactly as sated as Ginny at the end of all this, but still incredibly happy to see a fairly concrete ending, a story brought together to its conclusion, and a final reason to believe that TMW means 'This means war' rather than 'Too much waiting'. *grin* That said, I really did enjoy the story overall. It was long, it was amusing, it was something I can come back to later and laugh about again. The final battle was something I truly enjoyed, and I was surprised to realize how much I could picture in my mind's eye. Harry leading the charge, as would be expected and reminding me a good bit of Aragorn leading the charge on the army of Mordor... I did think of that, and probably so did most of us. But I liked it for that, too- you didn't try to compare it to LotR, it just was written well enough to remind me of it vividly. The betrayal scene was great fun, and just seeing everything happen... it worked. It worked for me like it was supposed to. Whether it's written different or not, I don't think I mind- it's written better, you've had a couple years to improve since you started, after all. I really do hope people don't give you too many problems. It's done, we're happy (well, happier if there was a lemon scene, but I had not planned to expect it) and it's something I'll be able to read again later on and still enjoy much as I did the first time. Thanks for the years of work you've done! It really does mean something that you put in so much time for the fans, even when you no longer were taking as much enjoyment out of writing it. Thank you for that- ever so much. Take care, I'll be looking forward to your other stories! (WK,GQ is my other favorite)

Bravo! It was bloody brilliant! I think you did this story justice and I do so hope that you do get another Harry/Ginny plot!

Until then, thank you for a great story.

"Can I try it with Harry next?" asks Gabby.

Heh. Well, I guess the final chapter of Hope is next up on your schedule, yes? :-)

I know what you mean about the story being 'confused'. I didn't find this final segement as riveting as the earlier chapters because, to my mind, it had moved too far into 'fairy tale' territory - Voldemort was *too* stupid, the good guys won too easily (no fatalities at all?), etcetera. Couldn't take it seriously. Whereas I reckon at least the first half of TMW! was an excellent mixture of comedy and serious tale that, somehow, had perfect pacing and balance. Unfortunately it came off the tightrope near the end ... maybe due in part to Harry's becoming too super-duper powerful, there being no real resistance to his plans, no hiccups, too black-and-white (even Draco angelic?!), etcetera.

However, a totally enjoyable story still, which is the whole idea. Thank you for the many hours of entertainment.

TMW! is a credit to you ... it was fun to read the various blips in the Yahoo Groups radars this morning, various groups with people chiming in saying "Alert, TMW! has been finished, URL *here*!". You occupy a singular position in fandom and Harry Potter history, Tim!

Thank you for persevering and finishing the story.

loved the story...

just a note on your butterbeer pricing - VAT is in the UK is 17.5%, unless the MoM has their own taxation (wouldn't be surprised)

Jeconais replied:

Uk VAT is 17.% for normal items, however the reduced rate for certain items of food is either 5% or 0% depending.   As Butterbeer is alcohol free (to all intents and purposes) it bypasses the liquor taxes as well

I hope you know how much I appreciate the fact that you continued to write such a wonderful fic. Throughout all of it I had reasons to laugh, worry, bite my lip, roll my eyes (mostly at the Fred and George and always at Sirius) and all together truly enjoy this. Thank you. Cheers.

Wow! Absolutely amazing. You obviously put tons of effort into this. I was so escited when I found out that the story was finally finished. The only part I didn't like about the last chapter was the whole dragon and rider thing. The lines are basically word for word stolen from the movie Eragon (which is a horrible movie btw). It just seemed a bit cliche and corny. Everything else about the story was absolutely amazing and I hope you continue to write for a long time.

Jeconais replied:

If it helps, I've never seen or read Eragon - the matches are purely coincidental.

All I can say is that you are a god. Once more, you put out a great story and I can't wait for your next update of Hope. Thanks for finishing TMW.
