Good ending to the story (although I'm still eager to see the epilogue, of course). Had to laugh a little when Harry used the 'obliverate' - oh, sorry, 'obliterate' - spell. :-)

Although Harry *did* get away with a clear-cut case of manslaughter, didn't he? Draco was captured and couldn't get away. There's no mention of his wand, but it seems clear that he didn't present any danger to Harry. But Harry still exterminates him. Hmmmm.

I wasn't surprised at the discovery that Dumbledore had planted the idea to mate on the eight-year-old Gabrielle - that's one of the drawbacks of reading your Yahoo group, the possibility was discussed ages ago - but I thought the reasoning behind his having done that was pretty flimsy, the case seemed weak. He wasn't suffering from dementia back then ... imperiused the little girl, forced her to mate ... but just decided 'not to follow through'?!?!?!?

Loved Viktor and his 'prettiest chaser', an amusing little thread of humour woven throughout the second half of the chapter.

Thank you for a great story!

As always, the story was amazing. I love the fact that you got Viktor and Katie together, I was feeling sorry for her before that. Nice move on having Dumbledore be the one to have Gabrielle Mate with Harry, didn't see that coming at all!
Thank you for sharing your talents with us, your stories are always enjoyable.

Really spectacular story, especially at the end where DD gets his due. Personally, I think Malfoy got off a little too easy, but hey, if it's good enough for Buffy :) ... As always, thanks for a great read!

Once again, you have proven that you are an author beyond the norm. You have managed to weave a compelling story, believable (I know that this is fiction ) and brilliant.

I only wish that I had your writing skills(sob)

Looking forward to the epilogue.

I obviously liked the story as I have read it this far, but there are some things that really annoy me.

The first thing is the the abundance of cheesy lines, but as this is a romance fic I don't think I should complain about that... so lets skip it...

There hasn't be any real challenges for their relationship. No third wheels, no secrets from the past that would make them doubt each other, no scandals to test their resolve... Nothing! Reading about two people loving each other, while somewhat interesting, gets pretty boring pretty fast...

Also, the fact that you made Harry super talented, super powerful and very, very rich out of nowhere irks me. Plus his personality was so OOC... Of course, he was years older than Canon!Harry, and so complaining about personally changes is bit stupid, but other points are still valid (even if other authors too it too).

But what annoys me most is that if bad guys do something stupid, they are punished (even overtly), but when Harry (or Gabrielle) does something stupid, he (she) gets applauded... There are many occasions when this has happened. For example:

1. Harry slams the French Divination teacher on the wall and destroys her ring just because the ring was a Dark item. The teacher should have just pressed assault charges and she would have most certainly won, especially after Harry destroyed any evidence of the Dark item. But no, instead we see how the teacher gets nearly sacked and no one berates Harry for his violent ways. Too hypocritical for my tastes.

2. The fact that Harry decides to levitate the Beauxbatons overseas with untested spells and then make a hole into Hogwarts' wards with an untested spell. Both are so stupid things that I fail at putting my thoughts into words... What if students had accidentally dropped the castle into the canal? Now, Harry could have probably intervened, but then he probably couldn't have pored that hole into wards... What if he had failed to create the hole? The plan was so risky that its not even funny, especially when the possible gain was negible.

3. Harry kicks Malfoy and Snape and instead of going to the court (and win almost certainly) they go and whine to Dumbledore (who's quite OOC).

4. The Gabrielle/Draco incident. Draco makes improper (funny thing is that she is already dating a professor) suggestions and touches her shoulder after which she abuses her veela powers and makes Malfoy run into a tree. Malfoy should have just gone into court instead of this stupid duelling thing (in which Harry and Gabrielle cheated). Instead of everyone berating Gabrielle for the stupid thing she did, everyone accuses Draco of attempting to rape Gabrielle. Accordingly your logic, I'm some sort of serial rapist and sexual deviant as I have a habit of tapping people to their shoulder disregard their age or gender...

5. And worst of all, Harry murders Draco in front of 40000 witnesses. It wasn't self defence, it's a clear murder. DEs were already restrained. If Harry doesn't go prison for that it merely shows how corrupt the Ministry is in Harry's favour, which is highly ironic considering that one of this story's points is how they try to make the evil and corrupt Ministry into better one.

Plus the whole Dumbledore thing was stupid. Yes, he's old may have been growing senile and demented, but that doesn't really excuse the stupid plans he made. Demented and senile people wouldn't have remembered the plans the next day, and so that excuse doesn't keep water. And you say that he loved to play the political games too much to really try to defeat Voldemort. That's total bullshit. If he had defeated Voldemort he would have gained so much political capital that he would have become de facto leader of magical Britain, and that would have been an excellent place to play political games. Not to mention the fact that Dumbledore would never harm his students. Oh... And I hope you tell why Dumbledore wanted Harry into Hogwarts in the epilogue.

Now, I hope you answer to this as I would like to hear your side of the story (instead of ignoring or deleting this). Also, I hope that what I wrote doesn't sound a total flame as it wasn't intended as such...

Wow! A truely superb "ending" to an amazing story. I had never concidered the senility thread as serious but it really fits. Thank you for yet another outragoulsy good story. Your characters have been so well rounded and believable. They remain believable even as you spin them from canon and that that is what mades your work so wonderful. It is a realistic telling (in characters and places we know) of a whole new story. Again, thanks for the hours of pleasure I've had reading your work. :)

I look forward to whatever you choose to write next. (GRINS with the big hint,,,,)

Thanksss
Ed.

Thank you for tying it all up so neatly, especially for Viktor and Katie. That was a really nice thing to do. As always, thank you so much for the great story.

Wow, that was a wild ride. Even after expecting something truly over the top, the sudden death-eater attack still shocked me!

Snape manipulating Albus through the anti-dementia potions was just slimy enough to be believable.

How was Albus sure that Harry would be able to rescue Gabby? If the merfolk had used a different approach, she might still have died and then Jean would have been dead-set against France ever helping. (In Dumbledore's mind, anyway.)

Also, there wasn't really a lot of evidence to sink Dumbledore on the charges from 8 years ago... or did most people consider his shocked expression an admission of guilt?

And yeah, it's nice to see a little "Hope" for Katie as well, with Vik. I love the way you write his dialogue, too!

That was excellent the whole story and even though you write tihngs that are truly unbelievable you dont make them stand out, but rather mould them nicely into the story with the right combinations of Drama, Comedy and Romance. With of course delightful little twists here and there. Lovely long chaptors which is definitly something I love as I can say I will just finish this chapter, which has me reading about 5 chapters of a normal story and lastly the ending. A brilliant tie to the title I hope you are proud of this story and I congratulate you on it overall as being excellent written and easily flowing. WELL DONE. Minx.

Well, it's been a long ride, but an excellent end to it. The whole "Gabby falls into the lake and gets abducted by Merfolk" thing seemed a little contrived, but that you were using it to create symetry in their relationship so it's forgivable.

Anyway, the chapter as a whole was great. Thanks for writing finishing this tale off.

Brilliant!

A little quibble; Voldemort wasn't resurected until the end of the third task.
