Tim, just reread this fic again till this point and enjoyed it as much as I did on first reading it. Not reading the epilogue this time made the ending even better. :)
Thank you, yet again, for sharing this wonderful fic.

Overall, a nice, WAFFy Power-fic, but not a literary masterpiece. Things line up a little to neatly for that, but meh. It's now twenty to six - AM, that is.
And I was just starting to get my circadian rhythm right...

I was re-reading this, and I noticed that Dumbledore could have quite possibly been on Harry's side. He knew about the mating, and he didn't interfere with anything they did that involved it, like the duel between Gabrielle and Malfoy. It's written in a way that Dumbledore could have been sworn to silence about the potion, and part of the reason he wanted Harry back in Hogwarts was to go up against Snape. Though either way, this was a brilliant story, and an excellent pick-me-up while doing some light reading. I thank you for writing it.

Second read through of one of my favourite storys and i would like to say thanks for writing.
I agree with your decision to remove the epilogue, which although good, did actually kill the ending a bit.
Anyway, i've lost two whole days where i should of been doing things but have been reading this instead, so i better hop to it.
Thanks.

What an excellent story! I thought the pacing was great as was the characterization. You had an interesting plot twist that you developed very skillfully. I enjoyed reading this very much. Thank you for sharing your work.

Bummer I liked the epilogue. you could have made a small parady sequel from it of their travels or whatnot. maybe a mass x-over as well.

Damnit, not only do you make the H/Gabi ship one of my favourites every time I re-read this, you ruin it, as nothing else really comes close. so thank you, but also damn you.

sorry to hear you deleted the epilogue, good story though. one plot hole in this chapter though: dumbledore relying on snape for potions. hes a brilliant alchemist in his own right

I just re-read the story and it's still a fantastic read!
But, I think that you should have kept the epilogue chapter here as it was a great way to finish off the story.
Is there anything I can say for you to put it back up for people who really enjoyed it? Also, isn't it more important the readers enjoy what they are reading? Just my opinion and you don't have to follow it, but it would be good to have it back up.

I just did another reread of Hope, then I wondered where the epilogue was, amusingly enough it was the only part of the story that never got saaved on my hard drive for offline reading.
I probably wrot it before, and am writing it again, but this is probably one of the best Harry/Gabrielle stories ever, amuyingly another one of the top 5 is by you as well.
cheers

Wherever you got your "fine dining" menus from, I have to say that as a professional chef most of the combinations wouldn't work when you consider such things as aftertaste, mouth feel, and flavor-combination.
Picky, I know, but there it is.

This is the second time I've read this, and I still find it beautiful. I do find it odd that Fleur talks about maybe bonding herself at the start, but that does make it easier to explain to harry.
This has quite possibly made harry/gabi one of my more favoured ships...
thanks for writing,

I'm not even sure you still read reviews, but I'll write one anyway.
"Hope" is a very important story to me, in a way, because it was the first HP fanfiction story I ever read. And I was stunned.
It has great plot, very good character development. In some ways it's better than the original JKR fiction that it's based on. It's such a beautiful romance. Scratch that, it's a fairy tale.
This is the 3rd time I read this story; I read it pretty much every year and it lifts my spirits up every time. The first time I read it, I had found some faults in it much more annoying than I do now.
I feel like you didn't have all the layout planned from the start. And it sort of shows in the first few chapters - Fleur talking about maybe Mating with Bill at the beginning is just unbelievable later, once we understand all the consequences of Mating. I feel like the idea of what Mating means sort of changed throughout the first few chapters until it settled on something much more powerful than suggested at first.
In general this story suffers a little from what all fanfiction suffers: serialization. You publish chapters as you go, as in TV series, instead of finishing your work of art as a one singe piece, like a movie. By doing it like that you took away the possibility of rewriting something early. I think if you ever came back, read and rewrote bits of this story, making it more harmonious, it would have been the best piece of fanfiction ever. But I _do_ understand why you won't do it. And it is very good as is. And the different pace of the chapters didn't bother me as much this time, as I already knew what to expect.
Another thing that bothered me when reading the story for the first time was the suddenness of the Death Eater attack. It just so out of the blue. But now I sort of get it, as I look at this story in a different fashion. It's a fairy tale, not a novel. It needs a villain for one thing only, and Draco does just that. This tale needs it's wicked witch to be defeated, and there's no need for darker aspects in it. It is, after all, a fairy tale.
Now I'm off to read Happily Ever After. One thing I do "hate" you for a little bit, is that you've made Harry/Gabrielle such a beautiful story in my mind. And nothing anyone has written comes even close to "Hope". And there's only 200k words of it... Fortunately I can reread it in a few months.
About the deletion of Epilogue: I understand why you did it. It contained three things I really loved:
- the depositing of Harry's diaries in the chamber where Merlin is resting;
- Harry and Gabby joining their heroes in the afterlife;
- Gabby asking Harry to bond with him.
And I wish this was somewhere, in a new epilogue, or something. But the epilogue that was here, did somehow not sit too well with the rest of the story, and I do remember being disappointed after reading it.
As last words from me: Thank you.

Arrgghh! Where is my Potter Quidditch Team?
Superb story, kept me obsessed and away from school work (procrastination excuse).
I love your stories!
