Interestingly, I just read the story "The Kiss of a Maiden" a couple of weeks ago, as the Chancing Chaos series was posted on HPFanficArchive ( http://www.hpfanficarchive.com/stories/viewstory.php?sid=1318&chapter=3 ).
Considering that the original generally seems like a scene from the middle, with very little setup or explanation of the changes from canon, this seems like a very good followup. The only scene that seemed awkward to me was the detruction of the Horcruxes and Voldemort, otherwise it flowed well, if slightly different to your usual style.
Good Work

Still enjoyable though.
I have to say though that something I didn't like in the original short (and still don't, come to think of it), is the way that Hermione was essentially permanently shut out for what I understood to be ignorance of the consequences combined with ignorance of the full situation.
The whole mess of here's this person who's never heard of your world before not being prepped beforehand with the understanding that there will be a selected individual with a family history of magic who will provide the knowledge of the customs, expectations, and protections that will come from having magic, so you're not trying to dive wholesale into a completely foreign culture and try to swim on your own. Attendant with assurances regarding the behavior required and such, to reassure those who might find themselves otherwise divided by Hogwarts House lines, which honestly seems to be a real crappy way to set things up, unless the original intent was specifically to have sponsor and sponsored separated in that fashion to promote inter-House relations, but given the implication I got that the offer to Hermione came before ever getting to Hogwarts in the first place would make that difficult.
