I know its probably too late to do anything about it. But in Harry's state of mind, he might wonder if she'd survive and not go insane if he were dead?

A little suicidal angsty Harry is always amusing. :D

haha that should be interesting. it'll be hard to get round a good plot though. but nice one, launching into something probably not done before. i like the way you describe harry's emotions, the way there are little hints of him falling in love, then pulling out of it. the internal struggle was really well written. a tad too dramatic at the last part where he exploded, but it was really good. i do hope they get together in the end though, gabrielle sounds too nice a girl to go insane. and poor harry for not being able to feel anything for eight years!! though i think you should really pair up with jk rowling - your story fits the current books really well and the plot is really interesting! the best thing about it too is that you are pairing harry up with someone not the main character in the series so far. well done! will be looking forward to the next chapter (:

Wow, that certainly adds a new twist, doesn't it? The idea of getting Harry to fall in love before he knew about the insanity was one thing, and not a huge deal, but this condemning him to no love life for the last 8 years is pretty darn rough!

I especially liked the way Harry handed Jean in this chapter, to get confirmation. :-)

Looking forward to the rest of the story! Thanks for writing, and sharing it with us.

I read alot. Having said that your line about "That man is a chevalier." sounds like a quote from somebody. Is it? I can't remember where or who, but I think somebody said something similer. forgive the misspelling, am half way to a nice buzz....wonders of working for gov and voting tomarrow,(gov not work when vote)

Just catching up with the group's comments ... damn, some good ideas there, I never thought about the implications immediately after putting the chapter down ... but in re-reading the bit about the bond I just admired again how you had Gabrielle go onto her knees as she begged him not to break it. Nice sense of pathos and desperation there on her side.

(Actually, if she had 'moved, suddenly, on to her knees' just before he teleported, how was it that she 'dropped to her knees, crying, in the middle of the desolation'?)

Enjoyable chapter! Can't wait to see what's coming up!

I think a few days ago I caught a message from you in the group to a fellow who'd asked for advice on how to write, how to 'flesh out' a scene. I hope he was taking notes when he read this! History about castle building (at least the first three didn't "sink into the swamp" - sorry, some Python just insisted on popping up then), wine tasting and 7-course meals. But I can't accuse you of being boring, some good stuff in this chapter - the description of the final battle, for one. Also the little bit about how Anton spoke to Harry as a 'normal' person was very nice, for some reason.

(Surprised that Harry killed Voldemort with a 'power he knew'; or maybe the idea of doubling up on the wands was the clever bit?)

Jean's summoning the aurors was a great way to ramp up the tension quickly. From that little section on I was on tenterhooks wondering if you were going to have Harry explode or not. And the manner of his departure was ... climatic.

And so the tension continues ... the bond still is there, what is going to happen next? Harry's rational, and fundamentally a good bloke, so I can't see him taking 'revenge' on anyone, no way. Like Ron said, he shouldn't abandon his friends for this. Oh well, I'll wait and see.

Thank you for the chapter!

Wow! Thank you so much for updating this fic. I have been rereading all your fics and this one I especially liked and was hoping you would update it soon. I think it is great the way Harry figured it all out. I love what you did with Ron and Hermione. Hermione needed to know someone knew something about her that she didn't realize! That was a stroke of genius. I see that Harry's powers have grown immensely since the battle with Voldemort. Breaking the wards around the Delecour's castle was impressive. I am hoping for a happy ending to this. The name of the story gives me "hope". I am looking forward to the Quiditch games that are sure to be a part of this and how Harry deals with Draco. I am looking forward to future updates to this. This is a great story. Thank you so much for writing it.

Wow. Fantastic update! The description of wine tasting was intriguing and the dinner menu sounded tasty though I'm not quite sure what half the items were.

Nice work on depicting Jean's flashback to the war.

Harry's confrontation with Gabrielle was exciting. But I'm curious as to why Harry left a 30 meter radius of destruction. Was it just to vent his anger, or part of his method of breaking through the wards?

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

I feel sorry for Harry that his life has been out of his control for so long - but I really like the idea of his bond with Gaby; can't wait to read how you are planning on Gaby winning Harry's trust enough to fall in love with her, and not feel guilty about the situation he has been forced into.

Finally....I've been waiting for this ever since finding your site in June. This was the story that drew me in and though others (WKGQ in particular) have kept me interested, this has been the one that I've waited to see more of the most. I hope that you continue this and look forward to new pieces sooner than this one came.

Oh, my!!! The repercussions from this are going to be "interesting". I'll be looking forward to the next chapter. I do admit, I love the way this is developing.

Oh my... This was the one story I really wanted to continue. This chapter was amazing and I hope you continue it soon. I can see this story's Harry wandering and lost... maybe savagely destroying evil until gab or someone finds him. I want to see where you are taking this (soon preferably). Outstanding job.

I loved the chapter. I notice Gabrielle did not tell Harry that she didn't tell him sooner because she did not want a caged tiger. I can not wait till the next chapter.
