A lovely little AU (or is it? ;-) ). Once again, Jeconais, you make us question the assumptions of JKR's canon. Who really are Harry's friends and who really love him? In the pursuit of their own interests and their blind trust for an old man who is as flawed as any other (and more than most) it is all-too-possible that they may leave Harry alone to do what is needed to be done on his own initiative.
BTW - Dumbledore knows that Harry is alive. He is too smart to be fooled by his own trick. However, Harry has paid his debt and more to the Wizarding World. I suspect that the old man thinks that if the boy wants to vanish and create his own life on his own terms, that is a due that is unquestionably owed to him.
A nice little speculative piece with an unexpected pairing. Plus a far more realistic romance than JKR's pitiful offering in HBP.
BenRG's Rating: 8/10

So well written that I got emotional at times. Love the twist at the ending.

Totally awesome! I realize this was a one shot...but a small sequal would be cool. Maybe everyone's reactions. Awesome job man!

yeah, great story.
I never really considered Daphne as a interest for Harry until I read your harry/pansy story. I thought that they (Harry and Daphne) would make a cure couple. Daphne isnt mentioned much in the books, it makes her a bit more flexible as a character.

This is the sort of story that is frightening because it is all too plausible. A Harry Potter that is so horked off with wizarding Britain that he would leave it after taking Tom down. All too frighteningly *plausible*. (And yes, I found the Nagini-skin jacket a nice touch.)

I really like this story. It's great. I never expected for Harry to be alive until the very end and I almost started crying when Daphne was talking about Harry's 'death'. Very good.

Excellent story, even if it does make the hopeless romantic in me that is obsessed with H/Hr cringe.
Aside from that, though, there is so much to praise in this that it's hard to know where to start. I have little difficulty in believing that Dumbledore could easily be that manipulative, and while I'm not crazy about the catalyst in this case (Ron, Hermione and to a lesser extent Ginny turning into Dumblesheep), having Harry embrace his Slytherin side would be a fun development. And I loved the finale with the Aston Martin and the snakeskin accessories. All in all, a very enjoyable read!

Outstanding! I really liked this take on the events of HBP and Ginny being so accepting of Harry's b.s. reason for leaving her. One of the better versions of Harry breaking free from a manipulative Dumbledore I've seen, thank you.

An excellent story. I find it amazing that no matter who you pair with Harry, through the magic of your words, you make it believable. Now, on to TMW.

How many tricks do you have up your sleeve, man?! My god. Your plots have more twists and out-of-nowhere variables than any I've ever read, and not only that but they're perfectly believable - as if JKR were writing but didn't have to worry about toning it down for 7-year-olds. Write more, more, more! Beautiful story. Thanks!!

Great story! Loved your ideas about Dumbledore, it seemed to fit in some of the situations that I have heard about. Your writing is simply amazing, dont' stop! Can't wait for the next one!

This is a very interesting story. I really liked the way she wanted to stop the story and leave them hanging several times. This was very well written. Keep up the good work.
