"I’m sorry," he said with a Gaelic shrug of his shoulders.
So does that mean Jean should be Sean then ? ;)

Wow. Another superb update, and so quickly after the last chapter. I had resigned myself to waiting weeks before getting to read chapter 4, but now I'm quite happy to have gotten another fix of Jeconais-style fanfiction.
Gabrielle was endearing as she withstood Harry's test of devotion. It was also nice to see Harry trounce Draco and put down Snape.
I eagerly await chapter 5. More drama between Gabby and Harry? The beginning of the Quidditch tournament? Oh the suspense!

Weeee! You're really on an updating roll with this, aren't you? Am well chuffed - this is the only other Harry/Gabrielle fic I know in the fandom with any sort of merit, and I'm glad it's getting worked on some more. Great chapter - I loved the energy towards the end.

Great chapter!
We all should have known that you wouldn't leave them wallowing in angst for long. (Hopefully the calls for Veela genocide won't be renewed.) This chapter also really showed that Harry has grown up.
While I did enjoy the confrontations at Hogwarts, it strikes me as very odd that there wouldn't been any place else he'd choose to go do research, given the animosity he has towards certain people there. Some public or even ministry library.
Although the idea that he deliberately--or even unconsciously--went there so he could vent a little on some one who deserved a hard time is enticing. :-)
I've very surprised that Aimee isn't Veela. I had just assumed that she was, given that it was her telling Fleur & Gabby about "being Veela". In this world, does it skip generations, or does it come from Jean's side? And if so, is there any expression of it in males?
Many thanks for sharing this. I'm looking forward to more.

As usual, I'm floored with the tale you're weaving. Seeing Harry's reaction suits what is understood about him in many ways. No, he's not pleased with the situation directly, but like everything else in his life that he's decided is unchangeable, he's accepted it and is working to make it right with the determination that we've come to know him for.
Gabby's changes were a bit unexpected, but still worked out well. Her denial of his offer was the most amusing thing I'd seen so far, especially when hearing about it from her perspective in the next scene.
Seeing Harry toss Draco like a rag doll honestly made my day. It was casual, it was contempt, it was the definition of glory. Oh.... not to mention Snape "putting Harry under imperious." I loved the treatment of Dumbledore, too, I might add. I hope the outtakes show his (and Snape's) reactions after that scene. hehehe.
As always, grammar & storyline were proper & fluid. I am thoroughly pleased with how things are progressing. As much as I hate to admit it, I have to admire Jean for -not- telling Harry the truth, keeping his given word even before the anger of 'themost powerful wizard on earth.' I've yet to decide on Aimée. While she seems to want what's best (and honest) for Gabrielle, she didn't stand up to tell the truth, either. I thoroughly understand Jean; going against your daughter's wishes is just begging for trouble, even when you do have to do it.
I'm also enjoying the by play of Bill and Fleur. Revealing the mating bit to him has had repurcussions, and it's interesting to see how it's being played out. :)
Thanks again for writing so well!

Excellent chapter! But I can't wait for him to tear Hermione a new butthole. :D

It's gonna be a war. A *Quidditch* War. The European Quidditch War and Tournament. And *everybody* will come.

My favourite chapter so far, I loved the way Harry has handled the situation with Gabby (and I really like that he is the only one allowed to use her shortened name). Harry’s test of Gabby was amusing, he really is a tease at times *laughs*. I thought it was fantastic that Gabby didn’t use her veela powers at all when pleading with Harry — it was just her, nothing was camouflaging her emotions and I thought Harry’s reaction to this proved that he was well on his way to falling for her; I also liked that he trusted her enough to give her the key to his room.
I liked the way he handled Malfoy and Dumbledore and his threat to Snape was priceless :) Dumbledore is certainly playing games isn’t he — I doubt he even realises that his continued arrogance is pushing Harry harder to make sure that his team is the best.
The quidditch tournament is going to be fantastic, and having the old Gryffindor gang together is going to be wonderful. I liked that Harry and Gabby showed off a little to the class when they were practising (again, he just can’t help himself).
**Fangirl moment — can’t wait for chapter 5 - **end fangril moment**
Margaret ;)

What a treat, getting another chapter so quickly!
And so full of interesting twists. I thought Harry's cutting of the Gordian Knot was quite elegant--he and Gabrielle have cleared the air the only way that it could have been done, it seems to me.
Hermione still deserves to be spanked. Even if she is managing to teach Ron quite passable French.
You're doing an excellent job of making us root against Hogwarts, which is quite an achievement.
I suppose it's just the H/G shipper in me, but I DO wonder how Ginny is going to feel when/if someone explains to her just why Harry was never really available to her...

Absolute great chapter. More soon. Please.
About the lack of time for training. If the brits can give out timeturners for a student to go to various classes, the french might hand out a timeturner to their students so they become proficent in quidditch in under 3 month.

Lovely chapter - way to defuse the tension you created in Ch. 3. I raced through it in twenty minutes due to a time constraint, but I'll read it again later. Beautiful work!

Fantastic, as usual! I see that you had already addressed most of the beefs that came out after chapter 3. I'm delighted that his old Gryf teammates will be helping out. That'll be such fun!
I thought the confrontations with Malfoy, DD and Snape were interesting. Cool, yet contemptuous. I don't share you dislike for DD, but I can see why you perceive him as you do.
I hopep the betas are well on their ways through chapter 5!
Cheers,
Michelle
