This story has only one huge problem - reasonable Ron, it's so out of the realm of possibility, I can't take it seriously.

This'll be my 4th or 5th time reading this. Probably my favorite Harry/gabby fic. Actually it just may be my favorite period. The emotions are human, the interactions are fairly realistic, and there's the betrayal/shove-it-up-their-ass combo that makes me happy inside.

Hope is a well-written story. The characters, backstory, tensions blend well together, nicely done!

The biggest problem...and its quite a big elephant in the room, is that you made Ron Bilius Weasley a goddamn Gary-Stu in this story. He is essentially the PERFECT friend, the PERFECT husband, basically the PERFECT everything which is incredibly unrealistic. Too perfect!

Canon Ron was a terrible friend, vindictive, jealous and very insecure with very few redeeming qualities. He is what you call a high-maintenence friend and the only reason Harry clung to Ron in the books like a life-line was because Ron was Harry's first and only friend after a decade of loneliness and depressing life of abuse, so its only expected that Harry would be afraid to make new friends at Hogwarts aside from Hermione. If it had been anyone else, they would have cut Ron loose and made new friends who would understand, that for Harry to have fame, wealth and political power, Harry had to loose his family to a mad man. Instead, Ron is constantly jealous of Harry's fame and wealth....epitome of an awful friend who is one-dimensional.

I can understand you wanted to make Ron grow up and be mature in this story but he is just too perfect and has absolutely no flaws whatsoever!

It doesn't help that both JK Rowling and many fanfic writers such as yourselves have fallen into the trap of glossing over the fact that....Hermione would date and marry the very first boy who essentially bullied her when she entered the Magic world! It wasn't Draco Malfoy....no it was Ronald Bilius Weasley who first mercessly teased Hermione on "know-it-all bookworm, oh that girl has serious issues" that should have by rights left a lasting impression of: "This boy is definetely not boyfriend material".

Think about it for a moment, a young 11yr young girl hears about a new world of magic where unicorns, dragons and magical people exist which must seem like a fairy tale ...a place to make friends. Bear in mind that Hermione would have been bullied in muggle school for being a know-it-all bookworm before she went to Hogwarts, so its only expected that she hopes to make friends with her own 'kind', with people who can understand her.

First thing upon entering it....is a bigoted Ron with a blackhole of a stomach, atrocious table manners with "the emotional range of a teaspoon" who bullies and teases her. Worse even, he never actually apologized to Hermione at all in the novel after the troll incident. Anouther thing that bothers me is that Ron literally brought Hermione to tears almost on a daily bases every year and I have never seen Ron make her laugh once in the books.

Yep...by rights that should have PERMANTENLY imbued an aversion to all things ginger for Hermione, so for the life of me I don't understand why JK Rowling shipped them together.

But I digress, this story is great except for Ron being nothing like cannon Ron...even if he does grow up and acts more maturely, he should still have some character flaws present that allows readers to connect more with the character.

awesome first chapter really got me into it! Excited to see how Harry handles his injury, does he feel contempt with his temporary job? or does he try to heal it with some kind of spell so as to get back to what he loves doing? can't wait to see what you did with this story!

Ok, compliments of my dirty mind(with a start like that you can guess what I mean by this), when I saw "and he can’t even do the one thing he loves anymore," uh, yeah, you can guess what I thought. Also, this is probably the wrong story to be asking this on, but I'm lazy, and I've reviewed every chapter in HEA already(I don't know if this site has FF.net rules, one review per chapter, and I'm too lazy to check that too :P), so will you ever post Castles in the Sky? I saw something from like 8 years ago on your stories page that said you had 15 pages done, so where is it now? I really would like to read it.

The calendar tells me it's summer, but the weather is not cooperating. What better way to lift my spirits than rereading one of my favourite AU adult Harry fics? Ok this is probably an odd question but I really hope you know the answer. I recently got a kindle for Christmas which is cool - except everytime I'm online to read fanfic I'm getting comments from parents on how I must not like kindle etc. So I was wondering if you knew how to send the story in one of the available formats to a kindle? I would love to save it as one of my books - which would make parents AND me happy! lol

I stumbled across your little profile and story on the fanfiction site. I wasn't aware they had banned song lyrics, I hav seen so many fics that still have them, and the staff do not seem to care. But that is neither here nor there. Getting back on topic, I followed the virtual "breadcrumbs" and came across this. I have got to say, I am impressed at the quality of the stories on this site. There are some really devoted authors that really know what they are writing about. Though I will not be swearing of fanfiction (the site) like you have, I will nevertheless be checking back here periodically for updates. Thank you for your kind attention to a humble reader like me. This is the first Harry/Gabrielle story I took the time to read. I usually dismiss them in favor of Harry/Fleur stories if I need a Veela fix.

That said, this is the last time I will EVER read a story featuring a specific pairing by Jeconais before reading anything else, as I'm quite certain I will compare every story I read after this to Hope and find them lacking in every way.

I fancy myself a fairly loquacious individual, and all appearances aside, I find myself unable to adequately describe this story. Excellent job. Please grace the world of fan fiction with more of your masterful work.
