> "Hey," [AD] protested. "I’ve changed, honest.
For some reason, that line just cracks me up.

Little Red Riding Hood? *groan*

> "Mum always said we were going to be famous," George said cheerfully.
> "I believe her exact word was 'infamous,’" Charlie pointed out.
> "Close enough," Fred replied.
*amused snort*

> expected her Prince to kill a dragon for her!
I thought you knew your fairy tales, Gabbi. That's SLAY the dragon.

> Judging by the padding on the inside, she wasn’t the first princess to have this idea.
*laugh*

Flying castle? Wow, that reminds me of a conversation he and Gabby had in another story . . .

> "There really is a humongous castle floating toward us?"
And this time, Harry doesn't have to pierce the Hogwarts wards to land it.

> because the Ministry won't take this sort of thing sitting down, and then, what would the Muggle Royalty think
*confused look* You say that like any of 'em matter to Harry and Gabbi.

Fun romp, boss. Thank you for sharing.

One word, Awesome! This was a delightful tale with all the right elements. Can't wait to see what comes next from the quill of Jeconais!

*gasp* A sequel! YAYS!!!
Plus you just have to work more fairy tales in right? *snicker* I forgot how fun those were when I was a kid. I always enjoyed King Arthur.

Good job, Tim. Yes, a real honest-to-goodness dragon. no flame freezing charm though? Too bad.

At the first chapter I wouldn't have believed that this really would be "just" a story that covered less than 7 days. Wow.

thanks for sharing!

Ok I was wrong about Gabrielle parents, but I still don't like them.

Awesome!

Absolutely, fantastically, freaking awesome.

You blow me away, Jeconais. You really do. I love everything you write and this was no exception.

Definitely in my top 3 Jeconais stories :D.

I'd say "All I can say, is I love you", but the only part of that true would be the "I love you". Once again, you have set before us a feast of literature. Our cup runeth over with this tale, of that I'll accept no argument.

Fine storytelling, incorporating many, many aspects of our world. The humor and wit leave laughter with me for many a day after each reading, the tenderness and romance give me such a warmth in my chest that would keep me safe from the harshest blizzard. While these might be the same names of characters you may read about in other stories, these are truly your own, filled with life as I've come to expect, cherish, and wait for with baited breath.

Of course, you curse me with the promise of another tale, one that I'll have to wait for. But, with many more chances to re-read your work, I think I can make it. Another win for you, five stars. *bows*

FenrisWolf posted a comment on Thursday 10th July 2008 3:41pm for Chapter 8

Hokay, first off I love your work; I have to say that up front, because I am one of those Delusional Harmionians who finds the idea of Ron/Hermione to be morally offensive, yet I can still read your work and for the most part enjoy it. Trust me, that raises your standard as an author up there with Heinlein, Weber, Lackey and the like -- and significantly above Rowling, as I can't even begin to stomach her versions of what I laughingly refer to as 'ships': hers should have HMS Titanic painted on the sides.

That all being said, I'm hoping the upcoming sequel is a little less fairy tale and a little more in keeping with Hope. As much fun as Happily Ever After was, both Harry and Gabrielle skated perilously close to MarySuedom, and even broke through the ice a time or two. It's one thing to be a metaphorical Prince and Princess(I even had a vision of Gabrielle having found a first edition of Machiavelli's The Prince in the Delacouer library), it's quite another to be Merlin and Morgana reborn -- and that's leaving out the possible negative connotations attached to being Arthur and Gwenevere reborn -- not to mention that Ginevera is an alternative spelling of the name. No, if you're going to write a sequel and not have it tip over into treacle-induced diabetic shock you're going to have to tone down the Hans Christian a bit and introduce a bit more Brothers G into the mix.

And while I know it edges more than I like into snarkiness I can't resist pointing out that your stated preference for writing Gabrielle's character is somewhat ingenuous as there's so little in canon to define her. She's Fleur's sister, she's part Veela, and Harry rescued her even though he didn't really need to, earning Fleur's emotionally based gratitude.

I know you planned to quit writing fanfic after you finished HEA, and I suppose that now is extended to the sequel, but if you are inspired to venture into the realms of HP fandom again, might I make a suggestion? I won't ask for a H/Hr tale as you've made it clear in the past that aside from your one short venture the ship doesn't appeal to you. But could you please try pairing her with someone other than Ron or another one of the Weasley Boys? Heck, pair her with Ginny for all I care, just so it's not Ron. She deserves so much better, really she does.

Thanks for listening!
