Well it's interesting you have made me both love and hate Samantha. But you broke the cardinal rule. You killed Ginny and made me cry.

I was a bit disapointed that you didn't conclude the whole Harry turning into Dumbledore thing at all. I thought you could at least have had Hermione begging him to take the Headmaster job at Hogwarts.

Over all it was a very good, if depressingly sad story.

Interesting twist. I like the Veela imprinting idea, mostly. But I have to say I don't like losing Ginny, at all, though I have to say you do it very well and tastefully (if such a loss can be tasteful).

Love how Harry went after Sammy and the toilet seat portkey. Nyuh. You killed her and then you turned Harry into someone he’d hate to be. Yet at the same time it was brilliant. I rather like the imprinting idea. I don't know whether I want Harry to accept or reject her so I rather like the open endedness of this. Great story either way.

I just have to say that no matter how many times I read this, the every first paragraph brings tears to my eyes.

Thanks again and again,

Meg

Great story, and I love how you make fun of your own story Hope. Shows that you have a true sense of humor!

The passage describing Ginny's passage did NOT make me cry. I was peeling onions in a smoky room while standing on a tack.

Wow! Massive kudos on a truly original piece of work! That was an awesome run of a tale, from top to bottom. Amazing job with ginny and harry's relationship through out and a total blindside/suprise with the imprinting thing with Sam. Amazing work for sure! Rock on!

I have to admit this was disappointing. The alone world was ok, not my favorite of Tim's work, but there were things in this that just struck me as wrong.

Why did he kiss her after Ginny's funeral? This seemed so totally out of character that I found myself rejecting it entirely. It wasn't just out of character, it wasn't a normal human reaction. There were other ways you could have pulled that off without a passionate kiss so close to having buried Ginny.

That's just one of the items that struck me as too odd to accept in this. I know I'll probably be just one voice saying this... but this was merely ok. Not on the same level as White Knight, Gray Queen, Hope or TMW...

Kokopelli replied:

A) This story is not for you B) You need to go back and re-read that section - it wasn't a passionate kiss _for Harry._

About 18 years ago my aunt died - my sister flew in from California and I flew in from Arkansas. I wasn't particularly close to my sister at the time and I'd been married for about three or four years. I found that I was relating to my sister in a very similar way to the way I'd treat my wife, even going as far as calling her by some of the pet names I used for my wife. She'd moved from big sister who annoyed me to adult female that I had to protect and take care of.

Strange things happen at funerals.

Your mileage may vary.

I like the ideas behind the story, but somehow, it seems very emotionally detached to me. Not sure why. I just don't feel it's on par with Hope.

I sincerely hope that you continue on with this story. I have read many Harry/Ginny fics, with them being my ship of choice, and have seen Ginny's death handled in many ways. With that said, this is by far the most heart felt and true to the personalities and emotions set forth in canon that I have read yet. And as much as I want to hate you for her death, I also am compelled to continue reading with the hope that Sammy is able to provide Harry with what Ginny desired for him. You both complement each others writing very well. It has been sad yet a joy to read. Thank You!

Let's see.... that was um different?

I wasn't quite ready for such a sad tale told in first person.

I have to congratulate you. With two authors there is no real overwhelming style change in the story telling.

I wasn't really thrilled with Ginny's suicide. Someone else may have stabbed her but she was trying to die.

Good story set. Well done. Even though I usually don't like G/H, this was good.

The joke about _Hope_ was funny.

Thanks for writing, both of you.

This was fantastic. It was odd, definately. It even made my stomach turn at times (not in the good way), but it was good. Very very good. It had a lot of your style in it, but was still different, which is good, that you're writing something a bit different- if for your readers only. I think this story showed amazing talent though it was controversial at times. I thought the part with Harry killing the Young Dragons sounded like something taken straight from Kill Bill. I also thought that the fact that Samantha was so young and Harry older than usual (45!)was very annoying. That was probably the thing that probed at me most. I am not used to reading Harry Potter, 45, widower, and it didn't have enough fluff for my liking. I do, however, understand that you wanted to try it. And It turned out to be a very well written fanfiction with a twist and a turn. I just....I don't know. Samantha seemed so...ugh. so pathetic, I guess. And Ginny's character annoyed me even more here. But I liked it alot. It made me think, and that's fantastic.

Kokopelli replied:

Yes, there is a 20 year difference between them, but hey, I'm 48. If my wife were to up and die on me, and some lunatic could be persuaded to marry me who was all of 28, I don't think that anyone would really comment, would they?

As to the fluff - wait for the epilogue - lots of loose ends tied up and so fluffy that you'll need to brush your teeth.

That was really amazing. Really, quite good. And I loved that little jab at "Hope." I laughed so hard! Nice work, and I can't wait to see a new update.

That was absolutely brillant. I cried, I gasped, and I laughed throughout this very emotional story. Tim and John, you two are beyond fantastic and I hope that you two collaborate in the future.

(Actually, I don't know why I figured there would be another chapter. One of life's great mysteries, no doubt.)

Kokopelli replied:

Actually, there is an epilogue - it's 98% finished, awaiting the day when Master Jeconais has the spare morsel of time to put the last bell upon the sledge and hook it up to the horse.

sami posted a comment on Friday 27th January 2006 3:58pm for These Dreams

Oh my god. You killed Ginny! That particular scene was very well written, by the way. I figured there would be another chapter, but I'll be waiting with dire curiosity to see if you can write another chapter with as much content as this one. o___o;

Kokopelli replied:

I didn't kill Ginny and Jeconais didn't either. The next chapter is fairly light and fluffy.
