i was in the mode for some tragedy and angst, this was perfect. i personally can't see harry ever living happily ever after.... in fics or cannon.

So true. They really abuse Harry.

Oh, this is good stuff... but it's highly unlikely that Harry will ever start thinking like he does in this fic. The Rowling books portray him as rather gullible. I guess this is what would happen without the gullibility. Rather realistic, given the events of books 5 and 6. I'm surprised I didn't read this before.

Again, a good job done!

Pwerful stuff, man. And hearing Voldemort tell it to them at the end, honestly, without any embellishment, was the absolutely kicker.

**shudders** such a chilling fic. Absolutely brilliant.

You know, I read this story a year ago - once, just once. I haven't been able to read it since. Just thinking about this story - <shiver>. I had to quickly skip the story to review it. Couldn't even read it now to refresh my memmory.

Well done! Keep up the good work.

Personally, while I find this work disturbing, I have to agree that V is right, they ARE more evil than he is, and based on that, they deserve whatever he does to them.

Very sad, yet believable fic. In fact, I find it far more realistic than the latest tripe from the original author. HBP was half-assed and, at the very least as character personalities go, violated her own canon as set down in the previous books.

Teenage years are hard enough without the never-ending piling on of shit that was done to Harry. Any adult would crack under that kind of pressure much less a teenage boy who never knew the meaning of love growing up.

JKR has been dropping hints that she is going to kill off Harry in the last book. Unfortunately, I find that to be the most humane thing left for the poor boy. She's taken away any reason for him to want to live.

Indeed, the title says it all. Very good, but sad, story. Keep up the good work

That was so good. I think you may have just made me love Moldieshorts. I didn't think that was possible. Fantastic story. Poor Harry!

Every time I read this I want to cry. It's really sad to see all hope slipping away. The title rally sum it up. And as I have already put in other reviews of your stories, I'm really impress how good you are. Anything you write it's just great.

I just came back to this (old favorite) story for the first time in a while, and I noticed a couple of things that I overlooked earlier. First, if Voldemort isn't really there, how is he casting Crucio? Second, would Voldemort, a man who teaches at least one of his followers (Quirrell) that "there is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it", compare himself to Dumbledore in terms of good and evil?

Having said that, however, I cheerfully encourage anyone who reads this review to ignore my comments, as they are nitpicks at what is still an insightful look at some of the weaknesses in the Harry Potter universe, and a powerful, unsettling story besides.

Oooooooooooooo. Nice.

One of your better fics, buuuuuuuuuuuuut... well, there are certain things you do, that I dislike, specifically, hatting on Dumbledore, but for this fic, it's nessecary. So I like it.

Alex out.

All I can say is wow, yikes, damn, and many other shocked words like those just used.

I rather like the H/Hr ship myself, so I am a bit biased against any not of that ship. Heck, if I read that a certain fic is R/Hr I will most likely click on the last chapter to see if it continues, and if it does I stop reading it, period. But this story is the pinacle of what many authors have failed to note, why does Harry fight? For honor? when so many ridicule him for telling the truth, for his parents? his father was a bully and his mother gave her life for a horrible childhood for her child, For Sirius? they only traded a few letters and saw each other a handful of times, For his friends? Hermione was a bitch in this last book and I was sorely dissapointed in the way which it turned out, everything was sudden, without any story to back it up. Without a doubt I will dedicate myself to reading every fic you have written. I can thank you enough for the writting something that was sorely needed in the fanfiction world.

Wow. Very harsh. But I must say Dumbledore kind of deserves what he gets. Poor Harry! He just gets abuse piled on abuse and is still expected to save the world...
Only one thing has me confused. You say "Very slowly, Harry walked out of the Great Hall." and then a few moments later he's dead and then Death Eaters are carrying his dead body out of the Great Hall to be honored...
