Has been abandoned...
I jest ;)
Seriously, as of 6pm (GMT) on the 10th of December, 2006, This Means War 10 has been completed. Clocking in at 255 pages (not including Mmail signatures) or 71,000 words, this is the longest
single chapter I've ever written, and has taken over 2 months to do.
It has close to 200 Mmails, and draws to a close every plot point that the previous chapters had opened.
Of course, some people will not like it - it's not as funny as chapters 1-8, but then, I'm not the same person I was when I was first writing this story, and this needed to be more serious.
I'm thinking of calling the chapter "Dragons, Werewolves and Goblins, Oh My".
I'm going to split it into smaller chunks and post them, because really, this is a completely ridiculous size for a chapter, and it isn't fair to my betas.
The betaing itself is no doubt going to take a while, so don't expect it anytime soon - just know that they will be working as hard as they can to get this story to you, in the pristine state you
desire, as soon as is possible. Before they even get it, I want to take a day or so away from it and reread it to check I've not missed anything.
After this, I've got three short stories (and by short I mean >30 pages) that will start appearing, before I write the final chapter of Hope.
So - I'm not dead ;)
Yes! This is awesome news! I love both This Means War and Hope, and can't wait for the updates on both! Now I just have to get used to that 'patience' thing...
Clocking 255 PAGES(**awsome figure by the way**) in 2 months IS amazing(despite Real Life[super]tm[/super]). Just can't wait for the rest of the thing to get online.
oh jesus christ!!! Dios existeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! es la noticia mas genial q me pudo llegar este añoooo!! whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Thank u very very much from the botton of my hearth
great christmas present and good work on the first part of the massive chapter
sorry to hear about your friend too
anyway must go and read it again :)
Merry Christams. This is the best present this year!
And THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
This is most excellent news! I look foreward to the last chapter of TMW and Hope, and the short stories.
Merry Chirstmas to you!
Great to hear from you again and thank you very much for continuing to write your fantastic stories especially given some of the "feedback" posted to you.
It must be frustrating to put so much time and effort into your stories and then have such negative and insulting critisism from others.
Please remember that there are others out here who love your stories and understand that real life must take precident.
Best Wishes to you for the Holiday season and from the other side of the world we will raise a beer to TMV at the christmas bbq...
Cheers Tim and "the Betas"
Once again, I expect to catch some heat for what I am about to write.
For the last time, don't tell your readers that something is finished, but it will be 'awhile' before it is back from the beta readers. Just how long is awhile? A week, two weeks or two months (like
the last time).
I work full time, go to school full time and take care of my household full time and I try to write a bit too. I would never post a message saying that I've finished a chapter, but I won't be posting
it until my beta readers finish it.
If something isn't ready to be posted, DON'T TELL your readers that it's ready. It's just wrong and very misleading to the readers. I consider the stories to be on hiatus until they are ACTUALLY
updated.
Chapter information and the title of Book 7!
Merry Christmas!
Lookin forawrd to it man.
GO BETAS! w00t for them.
and work on HOpe. Just read it all through again and I really want the ending. It would make me feel tingly and a tingly me is a good me.
lol
cheers man and Merry Christmas,
CG
You should have heard the noise I made when I read 'has been abandoned'. Somewhere between a cough and a scream. It was embarrassing, really, but less so than when I fell off my chair on reading
that you had finally completed it. Yay! I consider this my favorite Christmas present. Way to manage to write such an enormous chapter even in the face of real life! Can't wait to read it.
Please please please make a backup this time ;-) That situation with vmware (or was it virtualpc) was quite a nasty blow... I hope that never happens to you again. I myself have lost a few hdd's over time, and you always lose data (ALWAYS, no matter what backups you have). Anyways, thanks for the updates and fabulous stories!
I have read some of these comments and I would like to thank them all to quit acting like Dudley Dursley.
Thanks Tim, for all the time and effort you put into your stories! They truly stand above the crowd.
My jaw dropped when I learned the length of the new chapter. I would of course read it in one go. That would be a good day to be "sick".
Thanks again,
Dave
Whoa. This is an awesome Christmas present. And if not by Christmas, oh well, it'll be a great birthday present for me! :D
Congrats on finishing the story. I've always thought of this one as your baby (since it was one of the first you posted, I believe?); now it's grown up and off to college.
Cheers, Samantha
Well I would like to add my voice to those celebrating the glad tidings and Merry Christmas as well. I think it is rather rude to be demanding of someone who expends such great effort to write excellent fan fiction for his own and our entertainment. I would just say please keep it up. W
I don't usually write comments but this one i believe rates me coming out of lurker status to give a huge slap on the back to the T man. In the face of tragedy he continues to try and keep his
readers satisfied. Add on to that the balancing act between work, pleasure and life he has to do and i think we are all blessed to have him around writing for us.
To the few who passed out comments like why it took so long, or you hardly every update. All i have to say to you is that it is clear your parents messed up somewhere. Because gratitude and
understanding are suppose to be basic principles we are taught as children.
Hmmmmm... It's not April Fool's yet, so I may tentatively believe this announcement. I'll cheer when and if it makes a long-waited appearance. ;)
I'm very glad that you're not dead. I'd been starting to wonder.
And, I shout h'ray that we get more fic. I was going to be very sad if TMW! and Hope never got finished. (Perfectly honest, I'm more excited to see the rest of Hope, but whatever you want to write is
a goodness.)

good to hear you're not dead. Fun read!!!
