ur so evil jeconais! uv got me addicted AGAIN!! so im staying up wayyyyyyyy later than i should to read. and in finals week too. horrid. i wish ur stories werent so damn good!! ok so im kidding. i love them too much for them to be changed.

You know, when you portray Dumbledore this way in these terms, it's not so hard to buy it. It's still a leap to get here from his dark side Jo showed us in OotP and DH, but it's one that's much more conceivable to me.

What brought out the change? I think it was this line:

Power always corrupted, well, except with him; he’d resisted corruption.

That really sums up Puppet master!Dumbledore, doesn't it? Eyes always on the whole board. So much faith in himself that he can rationalize anything. The road to hell, and all that ...

About the only thing that doesn't jive with this angle is Dumbledore's oft-repeated belief in second chances (though I suppose that could be, to your Dumbledore, an expedient for keeping certain people where he wants them).

I do appreciate, though, that Dumbledore's bird and 'his' castle are the ones seeing through the deception. Are going to see Hogwarts' reaction? I hope so.

So anyway, another though provoking chapter. Thanks!

The word "use" shouldn't be there.

ps: I think the last two lines in this vignette have caused the most puzzlement in this community, as compared to all the other unanswered questions in this series. :-)

Sneaky Dumbledore... was he a Slytherin? Not one to be proud of, that's for sure. And my, do I want to know what changed.

Thanks a bunch, reading through these vignettes is incrdibly fun.

You know, this would be a good start/idea for a fic where the prophecy is not referring to Voldemort as the Dark Lord, but Dumbledore. He's been corrupted with the power at his disposal, so much that even his phoenix no longer recognizing him as a person of the light. After all, the best villains are the ones that nobody suspects. He spouts all sorts of 'light' ideas but his actions are those of an overlord. Maybe you can work this idea into a new fic? Hope so!
