Excellent One shot! I would love to see a sequel to this story. Not sure where it would go but it just seems to have the spark to be carried onward and turned into a story if you wanted to. I love to read your stories! Thank you for all the wonderful Fics!

A sacrifice is what happens when something valued is given up, not for something of greater value, but for something -less- valued. So when Hermione says that Harry is worth more than finishing school, no sacrifice has been made: if anything, she has profited from the choice.
A lot of choices become much easier to make when you look at them as a trader, through the eyes of capitalism :)
Good story, but I still think that Fleur owes Harry a "fume".

As I have become accustomed to this fact, this fanfic was entertaining, made me want it to go on and on, and to no stop reading before the end of it.

Just read this again. I'm not sure if I just forgot it, but the idea of Dumbledore "silently giving him permission to participate in the TriWizard Tournament" makes SO MUCH sense! I really love that explanation for the otherwise "yeah, right, unbreakable magical contract" gimmick. Bravo!
I liked also the "I, too, might have tried to kiss him, just to see if I was still desirable". It made Fleur's actions just that bit more understandable. Well, maybe I'm just thick and need such things spelled out for me.
And as always I enjoyed the steadfast!friend!Hermione depicted here. That's what got me into HP in the first place. I'd like to think that a sequel would have Harry and Fleur living happily ever after with Hermione a super-best-friend to both of them.

Originally, this story had an epilogue set a few years in the future, at Harry and Fleur's wedding. Hermione was the only attendant, although there were a few people in the crowd from the current days.
It had Fleur saying that her wedding was, finally, the happiest day of her life.
I just felt that it lessened the ending, and it was far better as it was.
